Most officials are good, caring people. They are human and make mistakes. Sometimes though we elect the pure criminal element into our system. It doesn't take a high degree of intelligence to realize that there has to be some very high ranking Officials  somewhere to keep the drugs flowing into our country at an all time high. What better place for a criminal mind, than in our judicial system and law enforcement. The Rodney King incident Proves that. That case is only the tip of the ice burg.

The 20/20 TV series  years Ago had an expose entitled Dyer county Blues, about the crooked sheriff and other  county officials in Dyersburg TN. These officials Were sent to prison. It is our place as citizens to weed out these Criminal officials.

I want to thank the present DA and other Officials  in Dyersburg for the concern and advice they gave our family on our rights, Dyersburg's Victim Witness Coordinator is doing a great job in helping victims' of violent crimes Know their rights. We were not treated with the dignity nor compassion any victims deserve in the 21st Judicial district in TN.

It was time to clean up the garbage and throw out the trash. We haven't got it all cleaned up yet but Joe Baugh is out of office. It has been over four years since Christy's death. We have a new District Attorney and hope this case will be looked into and investigated.

Do you know your Rights? Don't wait until you become a victim to find out. Time is precious, you can not assume the system will follow correct procedures. If they do not, vital evidence will be lost. Take time to learn some important facts so you will be prepared if you or a loved one ever become a victim of crime. Ignorance is not bliss.

Update
Feb. 4th 2003

Another three years has passed,  but I am still fighting for my causes. the new DA has done nothing to reopen Christy's case. Still no investigation has been done. Daniel Lay is in prison on some other charge. Eric still holds his silence Daniel off the record blames Eric.  If they were innocent why didn't they take
a lie detector test so other leads could be followed? Why did they not help us learn the truth?  Eric if you read this, consider how you and your family would feel, living all these years with no closure to the death of your child. You've married during these years and had a child.  If I was accused of murder, and
knew I was innocence I would beg to take a lie detector test instead of refusing one.  I promise that when your daughter grows up, she too will wonder what you had to hide and why you did not help our family by cooperating  with the authorities if you were not guilty.  The suffering and grief I and my family have endured since Feb.4th, 1995 is as fresh today as it was then. The NOT knowing is something no family can accept. If you are not guilty, then know that the person responsible is still in our small town. Will a member of your family be his next victim???
Update.. Sept. 10, 2003
Since Christy's death, Teen homicide has been one of my causes. Click on the link below for another teen homicide in the same rural county and small town in Tennessee. Another 18 year old youth that came  to my attention while fighting the system for justice. This case happened before Christy's death and was also a cover up. Is there a connection here.

Update Aug. 18, 2005
This year in February was really dreadful for us. It was ten years since we
lost Christy.  It was horrible again in July on her birthday.  I began completely
remodeling her site and putting it on another hosting site.  I am ten years older and fear I will learn what happened before my daughter does as I will be with Christy someday in the near future.  I have heart problems now, so that narrows my chances of living a long life.  I have eight great-grandchildren now, and ten grandchildren beside Christy. I love them all dearly, but that empty spot still aches that belongs to my first born grandchild.  Each child has their place in our hearts that no one else can fill.  Losing any of them is devastating .  I lost my step-daughter and friend of twenty five years, this past January and that has had a terrible toll on me.  They should have buried me as that is the natural order of life.   I will continue in my  search for answers.
Ten years waiting is too long !!
