for poem by Tammie Tingler, who works for
the DA's office in the 29th judicial district of
the State of Tennessee. I want to thank all the
officials who did so much to help by giving us
advice, telling us our rights and giving moral
support that the corrupt 21st district refused
to give us as we sought justice for Christy.

It would have been rather amusing, had it not been such a grave situation, when I went into the assistance D.A.'s office in the 21st district and asked to talk to the Victim witness coordinator. The young lady there said she was the coordinator," but I have no idea what one is", she stated. I asked if she realized she was supposed to talk to and help the family by giving them information when a case was being investigated ? " no, I never done that, I really never knew what I was suppose to do" she said.  Citizens of the 21st district pay her salary yet she has no idea what her job duties involve, and worse, she has no idea what her job title means. She actually only acted as the  receptionist of the office. I realized I was dealing with ignorant people who knew less than I about the judicial system, and I knew very little, but was determined to learn

How many people know that when a body is sent for an autopsy, The coroner only looks for what the victim has in their system, and unless a rape kit test is ordered, none is done. The officials stated that they had forgot that and should have done it as they had made that error before in a few cases !!!

I was having lunch in a restaurant one day and the Judge was eating at the table next to me. As I started to leave, I ask him where the law library was.
He stated that the county was too small for a law library. I informed him that even Lake county, which was smaller had one. He replied, " aw, Sammy Lane, haven't you ever heard the ole saying that ignorance is bliss"  I replied, " yes, for corrupt officials sake, they would love all people to be ignorance of the law, but let someone try to use a plea of ignorance of the law if they have broke the law and see how much bliss it gets them." I bet they secretly hate me. (evil smile on my face) I have no intention of ever breaking the law, not even running a stop sign or speeding to give them any opportunity to get revenge for things I do and say. The local police there are great and it brings a smile to their face that I am so outspoken. They know a great injustice was done, and they had no part in it. The sheriff shifts the blame to the D.A. so I don't know if he is just dense or part of the cover-up.

I do realize that the boys had the right to have an attorney present if they were interrogated, but they were NEVER even questioned. They only gave  hand written statements and they were conflicting. Each and every time we heard they had closed the case, we asked for all the evidence they had on the case, and every time we were told it was not closed and we could not have any copies of the statements or any thing else. Evidently they do not want me to publish those conflicting statements and see that no investigation was done. It has been ten years and seven months, and we still can not get any information about the case or given access to what they have on it.
